Fall 2015 peer tutor recruitment

Peer Tutor Recruitment

The Peer Tutoring Program seeks qualified students who enjoy helping others. If this idea appeals to you, then tutoring may be a nice part-time job for you for the Fall 2015 semester.

If you enjoy helping others and have a few hours a week to devote to a part-time on campus job then Peer Tutoring may be just the thing for you.

Requirements for Peer Tutors:

  • Must be a currently registered student at Hudson Valley Community College.
  •  On the President’s or Dean’s List.
  • Be a quality student with a recommendation from a faculty member for the course in which you wish to tutor.

To apply to be a Peer Tutor:

  • Pick up an application outside MRV144 located on the 1st floor of the Marvin Library Learning Commons (just past the men’s room) or send an e-mail to d.frament@hvcc.edu.
  • Ask a faculty member for a recommendation and have them send it to Don Frament via e-mail (d.frament@hvcc.edu) or interoffice mail (Don Frament, MRV001).
  • Return your completed application to Don Frament in MRV144.
    • You will be contacted once we receive the faculty recommendation.
    • You must successfully complete an interview and Peer Tutor Training in order to be hired.

Peer tutoring is a paid student worker position.
