I am pleased to share news of two Hudson Valley Community College graduates, who earned Associate in Science degrees in the college’s Fine Arts Program and continued their studies at the University of Albany.
Andrea “Drea” LaRose of Latham, is mounting her Master of Fine Arts thesis exhibition May 3 through 19 at the University of Albany. She is among 10 students completing the two-year, 60-credit-hour program of intensive training and study in traditional and contemporary fine art practices. LaRose received her degree at Hudson Valley is December 2012.
An opening reception for the Spring 2019 Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 10 at the University Art Museum, located in the Fine Arts Building on the Albany campus.
Arnela Mahmutovic of Albany, who graduated from Hudson Valley in May 2014 and is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University at Albany, has been awarded an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant. The foundation supports young artists, either students or those in the early stages of their career, who are working in a representational style.
