Fine Arts faculty members curate exhibit at SPRING/BREAK Art Show in New York City

Fine Arts Professors Tara Fracalossi and Thomas Lail curated a booth at the SPRING/BREAK Art Show that opened Sept. 6 and concludes on Monday, Sept. 11, at 625 Madison Ave. in New York City.

The exhibition, entitled “Apoca…” (pronounced “Apoca-llipses”), features work by 14 artists including Fracalossi and Lail, and HVCC Fine Arts alumnae Sara Alonge and Hannah Tremblay. The remaining 10 artists — all of whom have exhibited in the college’s Teaching Gallery — are Leah Beeferman, Peter Dudek, Jessica Hargreaves, Jennifer and Kevin McCoy, Lee Ranaldo, Leah Singer, Shawn Theodore, Oliver Wasow, and Emerald Rose Whipple.

SPRING/BREAK is a curator-driven art fair held in NYC and Los Angeles, returning to NYC for its 12th edition in 2023. It is an internationally-recognized exhibition using underused, atypical, and historic New York City exhibition spaces to activate and challenge the traditional cultural landscape of the art market.

Work by Lail also is included in “Borders and Boundaries Redefined,” an exhibition at The Art Center Highland Park in Chicago that is on view through Sept. 23.
