During the recent State Fire Marshal inspection, it was discovered that furniture power outlets are being used. They are only safe to use as long as they are plugged directly into the wall outlets.
They are fancy power strips with charging stations built in. Two areas have been cited and notified by the Environmental Health & Safety department.
If you have these power outlets, please make sure that they are used correctly: plugged directly into the wall outlets and not UPS blocks or other power strips. Visit this link to see an example of the furniture power outlets.
