Foundation Friday: local philanthropist’s donation helps students in need

A recent donation made by the Charles L. Touhey Family Foundation will help fund students in an emergency situation. The fund will be managed by the Roy Pompey, coordinator of Collegiate Academic Support Program (CASP), that will be the front line to help  students pay for unintended circumstances that could derail their academic pursuits.

Mr. Touhey has served on a number of boards and has been very involved in philanthropic activities, most notably as an elected member of the Board of Education in Albany (1976-1981) and as chairman of the Board of Trustees of WMHT Public Television (1991-1995). He also is a board member for the Center for Law and Justice and a trustee for The College of St. Rose.

The Foundation is incredibly grateful to those who make it possible to help our students concentrate on their studies when hardship occurs.
