The Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation (TSBCF) has awarded the Foundation $150,000 to support scholarships for students with children that utilize the Viking Day Care Center. The grant was completed by Ann Carrozza and her team at the Faculty Student Association (FSA).
Through this grant, students will have financial support to receive full-time care in a nurturing environment for their children while obtaining a college education that will lead to greater career opportunities. This grant will restore childcare tuition assistance that was lost due to grant reductions. For the next five years, 10 scholarships will be awarded per semester for a total of 20 per year.
This is a wonderful accomplishment for the FSA and allows them to achieve their mission of providing auxiliary services to the campus community. The TSBCF gift will have a direct impact, enabling low income students to achieve their academic goals and have a lasting effect on the children of those students who attend the nationally-accredited Viking Day Care Center.
