On Oct. 16, the Women’s Fund of the Capital Region and the Center for Academic Engagement presented a workshop on Effective Communication for students, faculty, and staff in the Siek Student Center.
Through the workshop, participants interacted with the panel of communication specialist on tips and trades of increasing their interpersonal skills. Activities included: building active listening skills, the influence of body language in conversation, networking advice, and best practices for meeting people, interviewing skills, and more. This event drew more than 25 participants and was a great success.
The next workshop will be on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in room 204 in the Siek Student Center. This workshop will deal with how to build confidence and handle criticism. Hope to see you there!
