The NYS Tax Department will help students, faculty and staff prepare and e-file their income tax returns on campus for FREE (if you earned $66,000 or less in 2018).
- Safe and secure online tax software
- Tax Department employees will walk you through your income tax returns, step-by-step – it’s quick and easy
- Assistance will be provided to prepare both federal and state income tax returns
- Use HVCC computers, or your own lap-top, tablet, or mobile device
- You only need basic computer skills and an active email address

What to bring to prepare your return:
- Driver’s License or state issued non-driver ID (for you and your spouse)
- Photo ID, if you do not have a driver’s license or state issued non-driver ID
- Copy of last year’s tax returns or your FAGI (Federal Adjusted Gross Income)
- Birth dates and social security numbers for you, your spouse and dependents
- Income Documents – such as Form W-2, Form 1098 and Form 1099
- Healthcare Statements (1095-A, 1095-B or 1095-C)
- Information for tax credits
- Routing number and account number to direct deposit your refund
