September is National Recovery Month and it is an important time to highlight resources available to individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder, including life saving tools such as naloxone.
The Rensselaer County Department of Health will be at HVCC to provide education and distribute naloxone September 26, 2024 in the Campus Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Through initiatives like Save a Life Day, HVCC, Rensselaer County Department of Health and its partners will continue to strengthen Rensselaer County’s response to this epidemic and help more people achieve recovery. Hudson Valley Community College Health Services at the Wellness Center is proud to be named a partner on this life saving event.
About Save a Life Day
On Sept. 26, 2024, all the states East of the Mississippi River (and a few beyond) are powering up the largest day of naloxone distribution to date.
“Save a Life Day” events grow bigger every year. Last year, all 13 Appalachian states joined together and distributed over 45,000 naloxone doses in a single day.
