Friends of Oakwood debut tour series with “You Died How?”

You Died How?, the first in a series of new tours to be presented by Friends of Oakwood, is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 at the Oakwood Cemetery. A variety of topics are planned for the new tours that each will explore a different section of the historic cemetery.

This tour, led by historian Kahty Sheehan, shares fascinating stories of how some “residents” at Oakwood departed this life: drowning, consumption, poisoning, childbirth, suicide by beer, gunshot, lost at sea, the list goes on… Don’t miss it!

Please register at 1-800-556-6273 and pay ($15/person) upon arrival. Participants meet at the Gardner Earl Chapel flagpole at the 186 Oakwood Ave. entrance to the cemetery.

The Friends of Oakwood is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the not-for-profit, non-sectarian 19th-Century cemetery and its historic chapel.
