Brewers of Oakwood: Digging into Troy’s Brewing Past

On Thursday, June 13, the Friends of Oakwood join with Rare Form Brewery of Troy to present an illustrated talk by local beer historian Gerry Lorentz.

The event will feature Rare Form beers, including Dead Brewers’ Collaboration, a special release created in honor of Troy’s brewers, as well as an exhibit of local beer memorabilia from the Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway.

The event will be held at the Earl Memorial Chapel just off Oakwood Avenue in Troy. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for a social hour and time to view the exhibition. The talk will be at 7 p.m.

This is a pre-pay event open only to those 21 and older. (Proof of age will be required at the door.)

The cost is $25 per person. Please call (518) 328-0090 and leave your phone number especially if you are paying by credit card. Someone will call you back to get those details. Checks (made payable to Friends of Oakwood) also may be mailed to or dropped off at 50 101st St., Troy, NY 12180.

The Friends of Oakwood is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer group working to support the preservation and maintenance of the non-sectarian chapel and grounds of Troy’s still-active historic 19th century Oakwood Cemetery. New members are always welcome; contact oakwoodcemeterytroyny@gmail.com.
