FSA Launched Fundraising Campaign for Turf Field and Track and Field Complex

In July, the Faculty Student Association of Hudson Valley Community College launched a capital campaign to fund the construction of a synthetic turf field and track and field complex adjacent to the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. The project is expected to cost approximately $3 million and will not draw upon county, state or college operating funds.

Plans call for the redevelopment of the college’s current soccer/lacrosse and football fields and include a 400-meter, eight-lane track surrounding the synthetic turf field, a natural grass field, grandstands, bleachers, a scoreboard and sports lighting, and a concession building.

The complex will serve the college’s athletics teams, intramural sports, Physical Education program and children’s summer camps. It will offer Hudson Valley the capacity to host regional, statewide and national sports competitions on the high school and college level. The facilities also will be open for the campus and public use on a scheduled basis.

Following the campaign, construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2014.
