The Campus Chronicle is the official employee newsletter of Hudson Valley Community College and provides information to help employees stay informed of college business, policies, news and events.

The Campus Chronicle relies on and includes user-generated announcements and informational items for the college’s faculty and staff.

Faculty and college staff can also post announcements to the student body. These announcements appear on the Students webpage (www.hvcc.edu/students) and in D2L Brightspace.

Please use the Campus Chronicle to deliver news, information and announcements to the campus community. All-employee emails should be used only in emergency or time sensitive situations.

Circulation/Schedule

A link to the Campus Chronicle and its articles is emailed to the employees@hvcc.edu list daily, Monday through Friday. A link to the site also is located on the Faculty & Staff page. The direct Web address for the Campus Chronicle is http://chronicle.hvcc.edu. Reitrees with HVCC email addresses also receive the daily Campus Chronicle email.

NOTE: the Campus Chronicle is not distributed to the student body. If you are interested in posting an announcement to the student body you must post it using the Campus Chronicle and select “Student Announcement” as a category when submitting the item. Student Announcements are emailed to all students every Monday at 9 a.m.

Submitting an Article

Articles may be placed by current employees. To submit an article, select on the “Submit Article/Student Announcement” link in the Campus Chronicle menu.  Submissions will be listed under the name of the submitter.

The tool bar in the Campus Chronicle article submission form allows you to incorporate hot links, images, format text (bold, italics, bulleted lists, etc.), and spell check your submission.

Submissions should be of general interest to the campus community. Submissions that represent prohibited conduct (harassing, inflammatory or hateful acts), as defined in the Code of Conduct for Campus Regulations and Computer Ethics section of the Judicial System located in the college catalog, will not be accepted for publication. Also, student announcements must follow the Policy for Posting Materials on Campus.

The Campus Chronicle will be edited for content and interest to the college community by staff of the Office of Communications and Marketing. Articles submitted that do not adhere to college policies will not be posted. Chronicle editors will assist in the ensuring your article appears in the appropriate category.

Classified and Community Announcements

Personal items for sale, swap or wanted will be accepted as well as announcements of fundraising efforts and community events from employee submissions.
