On Oct. 28, GlobalFoundries (GF) Director of Legal Operations and Corporate Affairs Ashley Castle and Director of Workforce Development Christine McLear visited Hudson Valley Community College for a brief campus tour and an overview of the college’s forthcoming Applied Technology Education Center (ATEC).
Department Chair of Engineering, Architecture and Manufacturing Joe Dana and Department Chair of Applied Technologies Dr. Chris McNally led tours of the Gene F. Haas Center for Advanced Manufacturing Skills and Williams Hall, showcasing the state-of-the-art classrooms and equipment of the two buildings. Dr. McNally also offered insights to ATEC, including the footprint, site vision, workforce development initiatives, and more.
The visit was organized by Executive Director Derek Martin and other staff tne HVCC Foundation in response to GF’s recent support of the 30th Annual U.W. Marx Golf Classic held in July that benefitted the ATEC project. GF participated and donated $3,000 to the tournament.
This builds upon a longstanding partnership between HVCC and GF that continues to grow each year and allows us to achieve many of our missions.
