All are invited to join a benefit golf tournament on Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Sycamore Golf Course, located at 38 Tompkins Road in Ravena. Sign in is at 9 a.m., followed by tee off at 10 a.m. Registration is $75 per person, including greens fee, cart and lunch.
Twelve weeks ago, my son-in-law Rich Powers was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. He now is home following 10 weeks in the hospital, but continuing nearly daily commutes for outpatient therapy. It is not known when he’ll be able to return to work and his wife, Tina, has taken an unpaid leave from her job to assist with Rich’s ongoing care. Rich is a decorated U.S. Army veteran who served 10 years with tours in Iraq, Kuwait and Kosovo.
Reservations for the golf tournament close on Sept. 17. Please make checks payable to “Melvin Roads Post American Legion Riders” and mail to the post at 200 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
