Governor’s deputy secretary on campus Thursday to talk about “Tax-Free NY”

The campus community is cordially invited to join Leecia Eve, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s deputy secretary for economic development, for a presentation and discussion on the topic of Tax-Free NY at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 30 in the Exhibition Room (204) in the Siek Campus Center.

Ms. Eve’s visit was announced by Nicholas Cappon, the Governor’s special assistant for regional affairs.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced a plan last week to turn large parts of the state university system into “tax-free” havens for new businesses opening on their campuses. Tax-Free NY will offer college-friendly companies exemptions from a wide variety of state taxes — including those on sales, property and income of employees and owners — for 10 years.
