The Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science Department was honored to be selected as one of only three colleges to participate in the Junior Achievement of NY’s Virtual Career Expo during the month of March. This invitation stemmed from the strong interest in health, sports and exercise areas generated at previous events. The expo serves as a valuable resource for more than 12,000 middle and high school students across NYC, the Lower Hudson Valley and Long Island.
During the event, students are given a virtual “backpack” to explore vendor booths and collect brochures, documentation, flyers and other materials, all of which remain accessible long after the event concludes. Our booth features program links, a career exploration flyer, a video and inspiring words provided by Jacob Silvestri.
The virtual career expo has been accessible since March 3, with a live event held on March 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this time, faculty members Jacob Silvestri and Andrew Blanchard engaged in live chat sessions with students, offering guidance and insights into the field.
