On Sunday, September 8, Honors College students enjoyed a beautiful day at Saratoga State Park for the 2024 Walk to End Epilepsy event. Katie Ziegler, an Honors College student in the Engineering Science program, serves as an ambassador for the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, Inc. To help support the amazing work of the foundation, hundreds of participants attended the walk, helping to raise more than $79,000! The Honors College students were delighted to take part, handing out water to participants and then joining in the walk.
The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York, Inc. is to lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives. The walk serves to educate people on what epilepsy is and learn about the challenges people with epilepsy face every day. The funds raised are used to support programs and services to an estimated 45,000 people with epilepsy and their families who live in their 22-county service area.
