While the Dwight Marvin Library remains closed for the summer semester, a new service is available to provide students with access to the library’s textbook collection. Please note: all students are strongly encouraged to secure required textbooks from the Viking’s Cove Bookstore.
Effective Tuesday, May 26, students enrolled in summer courses may use the Textbook Excerpt Request Service to request up to one chapter per course on a daily basis. Library staff will scan the chapter and send a PDF file to the student’s HVCC email address. The request form is available online and will also be available from the summer textbooks on reserve listing starting May 26. Note that the service is staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The temporary free access to etextbooks during the spring semester campus closure, provided by vendors Redshelf and VitalSource, ends May 25.
Contact Library Director Brenda Hazard at library@hvcc.edu with questions about reserve textbook access or library services.
