Join us for a lively book discussion of Zeitoun by Dave Eggers, a true story of a family caught between the war on terror and Hurricane Katrina. Zeitoun, a middle-aged Syrian-American father and owner of a successful painting and contracting firm, decides to stay and watch over his business while his wife Kathy evacuates with their four young children. Zeitoun is mistaken for a terrorist and subjected to a series of humiliations, locked in a cage, then a prison, all the while without being charged with anything or even being allowed to make a phone call to his wife.
The HVCC Book welcomes students, staff, faculty and community members. Please join us and feel free to bring your lunch! Meetings are held in the Dwight Marvin Library on the second floor in the MPR (Multipurpose Room).
