HVCC Concert Series Continues with The McKrells on Nov. 17

Perennial local favorites The McKrells bring Celtic-infused bluegrass music to a live concert at noon on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the BTC Auditorium. The hour-long event, the third of a four-part concert series, is open free to the public; no reservations or tickets are required to attend.

The McKrells has performed for countless audiences near and far, and maintains a dedicated following throughout the northeast United States. If indeed “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts,” then The McKrells is colossal. Made up of six, extremely-talented musicians with vast credentials of their own, the band is as popular today as it was decades ago.

Founder Kevin McKrell, singer, songwriter, storyteller and guitarist, is joined by Arlin Greene, bass; Scott Hopkins, banjo; Brian Melick, drums; Frank Orsini, fiddle, and Peter Pashoukos, lead guitar.

Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy The McKrells playing from its vast repertoire that includes songs from “Still Pickin’,” a 2022 album.

The remaining fall 2022 concert series will feature Fuego Sonoro on Thursday, Dec. 1 at noon in the BTC Auditorium.

New to the area’s live music scene, Fuego Sonoro performs 1950s-era Latin music — bossa novas, Brazilian choros, Caribbean rhumbas and calypsos. Jonathan Greene, clarinet; Brian Melick, drums; Jon Suters and Jason Ennis, guitars, spice up familiar melodies and rhythms with improvisation to create a fresh, yet still classic sound.
