Three current and former part-time HVCC faculty members from the English, Foreign Language and ESL Department are involved in an evening of original, one-act plays premiering at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts/Circle Theater Players in Averill Park.
Bonnie Cook is acting in Sean’s Wonders, which asks: Would you help your best friend die? Would you do it to keep yourself free?
Sandra Hutchison wrote Nude with Bearded Irises, which asks: What do we think about abstract art? Social media? That naked woman sprawled in the irises?
Val Kavanaugh, a former part-time faculty member, wrote Agnes’ Birthday: At age 70, are there really any birthday surprises left? For Agnes, the answer is yes.
These and four other short plays will be performed in an evening, marketed as “Irish Nudes Live in the Café,” this coming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (Oct. 17-19) at 8 p.m. and Sunday (Oct. 20) at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $16 ($10 for those under 18) and can be reserved or purchased at http://slca-ctp.org/OneActPlays.htm.
The newly-renovated performance space at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts is located on Rt. 43 near the intersection with Rt. 66, across from Tremont Lumber. Directions are available at http://slca-ctp.org/Directions.htm.
