Each year, the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute (NYSSI) awards a $500 scholarship to one eligible student at each of the community colleges throughout New York State. This year, the HVCC award was presented to Jack Finlan, a second year student in the Criminal Justice Department.
In attendance were Jack and his family, Business and Criminal Justice Department Chair Ricky Thibodeau, Dean of School of Business and Liberal Arts Tyler Kessel, Officer in Charge Louis Coplin and faculty and students from the CRJS Department. Representing the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office were Sheriff Kyle Bourgault (pictured below) and Undersheriff Mike Dinardo.
