HVCC Student Satisfaction Survey results summary – 2017

This past spring, the Institutional Assessment Office distributed a  survey to all full-time and part-time students asking them to indicate their level of satisfaction on a variety of items, including their overall satisfaction with the college.

The HVCC Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS) was developed by the college’s Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness (AIE) Committee and was based on the SUNY Student Opinion Survey (SOS), which is administered every three years to all SUNY campuses. Because of the time lapse in between SOS administrations, the AIE Committee agreed that in order to more effectively assess students’ perceptions of the quality of the college’s academics, student services, registration and advisement processes, facilities and equipment, clubs and activities, etc., and to gather information on what students perceived as challenges to their success as well as their feedback overall, the SSS would be administered in the years between the SOS administration.

Below is a link to the summary of the Student Satisfaction Survey results, including the data and all comments made by students on the survey.

The results from the 2017 Student Satisfaction Survey will be utilized by the college as part of its ongoing assessment of institutional effectiveness and its ongoing efforts toward continuous improvement. Please direct questions, comments and feedback to Margaret Geehan, Dean of Institutional Assessment, ADM 220, 620-4557.

Thank you everyone for your ongoing cooperation with and participation in the college’s Institutional Effectiveness process.
