The Office of Special Events typically reserves time in the Conway Ice Rink with internal and off-campus clients during the summer months. However, please be advised that the college is not offering ice rental or reservations for the 2022-23 season as it explores necessary upgrades to the rink’s operating system.
After decades of use, the ice rink’s aging infrastructure now requires the removal of R-22 refrigerant (which is no longer manufactured) and replacement with a new refrigerant, as well as the replacement of aging compressors and chillers, or possibly the removal and reconstruction of the entire cooling infrastructure under the arena floor.
Please note that the college has installed turf in the rink to serve campus and community groups for the 2022-23 season as it evaluates the cost and work needed to bring the ice rink to a reliable and sustainable operating standard.
