Important Fall Semester Information

Students,

As we prepare to begin classes at Hudson Valley Community College, I want to take a moment to welcome you, whether you are a new or returning student, and to share some important information about the fall semester.

Questions and Concerns

Many questions and concerns you may have about the fall semester have been addressed on the COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) webpage. You may also connect with us by using the Question Related to COVID-19 Situation web form  or calling (518) 629-7800 to speak to a college employee about COVID-related concerns.

Coming to Campus

Those who are planning to visit campus, whether for classes or to access offices and support services, should be aware of the policies and procedures the college has outlined on our COVID-19 Campus Re-Occupancy Safety Plan webpage. These policies are designed to protect the health and safety of our entire campus community. A few important things you should know if you plan to come to campus include:

  • If you are sick for any reason or have tested positive for COVID-19 within 14 days, please STAY HOME and contact Health Services at (518) 629-7468 or healthservice@hvcc.edu.
  • Please note that the Williams Access Road entrance to campus is closed, and North Drive access is limited. Some building entrances will be closed as well, so please follow posted signs.
  • Everyone who comes to campus will need to undergo a daily health screening process before being allowed access to campus. You must fill out a short questionnaire before arriving on campus each day. Details on the health screening process, including current hours and locations of screening stations, are available on the Health Screening Process webpage.
  • Face masks or coverings that cover the nose and mouth are required to be worn at all times in shared spaces, including classrooms and labs, and while in the presence of others on campus. If for medical reasons you are unable to wear a mask, contact the Center for Access and Assistive Technology at (518) 629-7594 or caat@hvcc.edu to receive a face shield.
  • Practice social distancing – maintain six feet of distance from others at all times.
  • Wash your hands frequently or use a hand sanitizer that contains 60% alcohol.
  • In addition to enhanced cleaning and disinfection on campus being performed by college staff, students will have access to wipes to disinfect high-touch surfaces before and after using them.
  • Free unlimited ridership is available on CDTA buses for Hudson Valley students with a valid student ID. If you rely on the CDTA bus to get to campus, please contact Public Safety at (518) 629-7210 to expedite the process of getting your student ID.

Additional information and updates will be shared on the college’s COVID-19 webpage and sent via email. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our campus community safe and healthy as we begin a new semester.
