Effective Jan. 1, 2015 the college’s Dental Plan will be administered by Delta Dental.
What you need to know
- The dental plan will continue to pay the same amount as it did in the past, and the $1,200 annual maximum for dental services will remain the same.
- You do not need to do anything to be enrolled in the Delta Dental plan. Any employee currently enrolled in the Hudson Valley Community College dental plan will automatically be enrolled with the new Delta Dental plan.
- You may continue to use the dentist of your choice.
- Employees enrolled in the dental plan will have access to Delta Dental PPO dentists as of Jan. 1, 2015. According to Delta Dental, nearly 80% of dentists in the area are in their network. By using a Delta Dental PPO participating dentist, out of pocket expenses can be lower for dental services.
- If you are currently using a participating dentist under Benetech, that dentist may or may not be a member of Delta Dental’s network. You will need to contact the dentist to determine if they participate with Delta Dental, or you can check participating dentists on the Delta Dental Web site: www.deltadentalins.com.
- Dental services that you receive prior to Jan. 1 will continue to be processed by Benetech. Delta Dental will process all claims with service dates on or after Jan. 1.
- ID cards will be sent directly from Delta Dental to enrolled employees homes. Cards will arrive at your home in an envelope with the Delta Dental logo on it. All enrolled employees will receive two (2) ID cards from Delta Dental even though you only have single coverage.
- ID cards are scheduled to arrive at employees’ homes by the first week of January. If you have a dental appointment scheduled after Jan. 1, 2015 but have not received a card, employees can access benefit information on the Delta Dental Web site or contact Human Resources at 629-4552.
**You will need to create a username and password to view specific plan information such as checking eligibility, claim status, etc. on the Delta Dental Web site.
