The campus community is invited to join us.  Meeting agenda as follows:

1.0   Call to order by sign in
2.0   Approval of meeting minutes for September 10th meeting.
3.0   Reports/Resource Presentations
4.0   Unfinished Business

  • 4.1  Student Response System Subcommittee update
  • 4.2  Ongoing  discussion of IRC By-laws review.
  • 4.3  E-book Subcommittee update .

5.0   Instructional Resources Forum.
(This is an open time for committee members, as well as guests, to discuss positive and negative issues regarding their instructional spaces and related resources.)

6.0   New Business

  • 6.1 Introduction of new potential committee members (Chronicle Outreach).
  • 6.2 Committee Membership; existing vacancy and review of mandated committee structure.
  • 6.3 Discussion of role of campus technology partners and participation in upcoming committee meetings.  Specifically, current review of governance structure and the IRC’s relationships between TAC and a new “Core Technology Group” called for by the CIO.
  • 6.4 Pedagogical issues raised by a teaching colleague with regard to this meeting room (FTZ-251).

From the Bylaws of the Academic Senate:

Purpose. The Instructional Resources Committee is responsible for recommending those matters involving policies governing the development and utilization of all learning and instructional resource facilities.

Responsibilities. The Instructional Resources Committee is specifically responsible for:

1. formulating, evaluating, approving and recommending policies regarding instructional resources and services in support of classroom instruction and the overall educational process;
2. identifying and evaluating available instructional resources and services and making recommendations concerning the development and implementation of those resources and services which support classroom instruction and the overall educational process, including but not limited to, the library, instructional media, computer, laboratory usage.
