On Friday, Nov. 15, keynote speaker Amelia Amon of Alt-Technica gave a talk on how to design LED energy solutions with creativity, sensitivity to materials, technical proficiency, cost savings, ease of maintenance and basic aesthetic principles to integrate photovoltaics into urban and natural landscapes as part of an event was organized by New York Solar Energy Society (NYSES) Capital Region Chapter, of which the college’s TEC-SMART is a member.
Rather than traveling from New York City to Malta, Ms. Amon worked with Instructional Technologies (IT) on installing and utilizing Cisco Jabber, a desktop videoconferencing software. Participants at TEC-SMART were able to have two-way communication with Ms. Amon and simultaneously see her PowerPoint presentation. Also, collaboration with the US Green Building Council (USGBC) will allow American Institute of Architects (AIA) continuing education units for the presentation.
