Peter Fil, a computer-aided drafting instructor, traveled this summer to PyeongChang, South Korea — the site of the 2018 Winter Olympics — to compete in the Third World Mulimpia. The Mulimpia is an open martial arts competition that includes TaeKwonDo, Haedong Gumdo, Kung Fu, Hapkido and Wushu.
Peter, his 10-year old son and 33 others from Master Yang’s Martial Arts Center in Latham, represented team USA with the school placing second overall in the world.
Peter won first place in the finals round to become world champion
in his division in Haedong Gumdo (art of the sword).
