Introduction to Revit® is a 30-hour, non-credit, intensified training in 3D Computer-Assisted Drawing (CAD), and Building Information Modeling (BIM), using Autodesk® Revit®. This course is also available to HVCC students, at an affordable rate!
The course provides students with an overview of Revit® software, focusing on light commercial project applications. This training is ideal for students interested in or currently studying building trades, construction or engineering-related subjects, as well as individuals/firms interested in updating or switching from 2D CAD to 3D and BIM.
No previous AutoCAD experience required! Students only need basic computer skills, including familiarity with navigating the Windows operating system, and a minimum 10th-grade reading and math skills.
Participate in the following activities:
- Producing 2D and 3D drawings
- Importing AutoCAD drawings and images into Revit®
- Understanding how Revit® helps with conflict avoidance of beams, pipes and HVAC ductwork before construction.
- Demonstrating Revit® plotting and sheets
- Creating/customizing title blocks
- Demonstrating advanced Revit® commands to create custom components (doors, windows, casework), walls and roofs.
- Completing presentation and working drawings.
Prerequisites: Minimum 10th-grade reading and math skills; computer skills, including familiarity with navigating the Windows operating system.
Schedule: May 5 – 28, 2014; Monday/Wednesday: 6 – 9:30 p.m.
