On Feb. 26, 2025 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Hudson Valley Community College Department of Public Safety responded to a physical altercation at the Marvin Library. Upon the arrival of officers, one person of interest fled the scene. On Feb. 27, the suspect, identified as Kamao Douglas, a student at HVCC, was arrested by HVCC peace officers and investigators, and charged with menacing in the second degree, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was also charged with conduct violations for the original incident and possessing prohibited weapons on campus. Douglas was processed at the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s office and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Troy City Court at a later date.
