Final exams are quickly approaching, and student stress is increasing. Student Development is offering classroom demonstrations of mindful breathing demonstrations to assist students in managing stress and calming the nervous system as they prepare for finals. Presentations are quick and can be done in up to 5-10 minutes at the beginning or end of class.
Mindfulness and breathing exercises are scientifically proven to help calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and improve concentration. It encourages focus on breathing, body sensations, or surroundings, and interrupts negative thought patterns. The techniques taught will help students:
- Lower anxiety and stop overthinking.
- Improve concentration while revising.
- Calm your nerves before and during an exam.
