It’s true. I am retiring. These years have been extraordinarily fulfilling and fun. Everyone I have interacted with across the campus has been helpful, supportive, congenial, likable… just superb in every way. You have all contributed to making my campus life conflict free, easy, and enjoyable. I am very grateful!
However, this is not goodbye. My expectation is to return in September as an adjunct. After eight weeks of absence, I already miss being with students in person. But I had decided beforehand that I wanted to return anyway, so I hope that works out.
Though spending a lot more time pursuing my passion for bird watching and bird photography will not be as soul-satisfying and purposeful as teaching, it will be a lot of fun! I’m really looking forward to that. And reading. And napping. And cleaning out the basement. And…
