Lacrosse Advances Past Delhi

 

The lacrosse team (11-7) defeated SUNY-Delhi (11-5), 17-15, on Wednesday afternoon, advancing to the Final Four of the Regional Tournament.

Trailing 7-2 after the first quarter, Mason Agosto (Cary Grove/Cary Grove, IL) scored four consecutive goals to put the Vikings within one in the second. David Klapp (Saratoga Springs/Greenfield) added two goals to take the lead, helping cap off an 11-0 run to take a 13-7 lead into the half. Agosto finished with a team-high seven goals, while Klapp added another six to lead the Vikings. Goalie Andrew Reilly (Bethlehem/Bethlehem) came up with some important saves late in the game and finished with 22 saves in goal.

The team travels to Herkimer County Community College for the Final Four of the Regional Tournament on Saturday, May 5, to take on top-seeded Onondaga at 1 p.m.
