Lansingburgh Historical Society events in March and April

The Lansingburgh Historical Society will hold its first open house for 2017 at the Melville House, located at 2 114th Street in Lansingburgh, on Saturday, March 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All are welcome to come and see where Herman Melville lived and wrote his first two novels. A tag sale also will be held.  A $5 donation is appreciated.

On April 6, the Lansingburgh Historical Society will host a presentation by Michael Barret, executive director of the Hudson Mohawk Industrial Gateway, on the history of Troy’s Tiffany windows.

The event will be held at the VanSchaick Island Country Club in Cohoes. Attendees are welcome to purchase dinner from the menu beginning at 5 p.m. or simply attend the lecture at 7 p.m.

Admission to the lecture is $7 for members and $8 for non-members. Reservations are needed whether dining or just attending the lecture. Please call 237-0145 if you plan to attend.

This is a wonderful event!

Thank you,
