Last Call for Summer 2021 Online and Remote Instruction Training Opportunities

The Center for Distance and Online Learning summer schedule is full of upgrades, testing, and significant projects. However, we can work with any faculty member who needs to develop an online course to teach in Fall 2021. Spring 2021 trainees who need to complete the online instructor training are also encouraged to wrap up during this summer session. We also have Blackboard Basics for in-person or remote instruction and Grade Center training happening this summer.

Online Instructor Training

Summer 2021: Pedagogy of Effective Course Development and Delivery (PEOCDD)Registration Deadline: Monday, June 14 by 4 p.m.

The online instructor training workshop is for faculty who will teach either fully online asynchronous courses (no set meeting time) or hybrid classes (limited real-time meetings online or in-person) in Fall 2021 or Spring 2022. Faculty meet remotely for two hours each week for seven weeks to learn tools and strategies, and in between class sessions, they build out their courses. At the end of the workshop, the course build is complete, and an OSCQR rubric is done to ensure best practices. The course is then sent to DC for review and approval.
