Last call for VET-ROC-recommended Operation Green Zone Training

Hello faculty and staff members,

This is the last call for the Operation Green Zone self-paced training for those of us who interface with the Student-Veteran and military population here at HVCC. Please see the below information.

It’s not too late to sign up for the Operation Green Zone training beginning on Monday, Feb. 14.

The Veterans Resource and Outreach Center (VET-ROC) recommends the Operation Green Zone training for faculty and staff members on campus who interface with our veteran and military-connected students.

The Operation Green Zone training is an online, interactive training portal with a program designed to teach and guide faculty members to better understand the potential signs of struggles veteran/military students face as they reintegrate into society. Operation Green Zone is not designed to certify faculty and staff in a mental health aspect, but it is designed to help put the veteran’s viewpoint into perspective in order to better recognize the potential signs of struggle. This evolution of the course will span six-weeks with two classes per week totaling roughly one-to-two hours and will be followed by a response form.

For more information and to sign up, please email Dan Wargo, VET-ROC coordinator, at d.wargo@hvcc.edu or call (518) 629-7051.
