How does our society progress? Innovation, invention, and reinvention turn old ideas into new concepts. Calling on Darwinian theories of evolution, Elon Musk’s unique brand of technological determinism, Roger’s Innovation Diffusion Theory and others, we will examine the engine and impetus of innovation in modern culture.

Students will be invited to look at innovation not as a moment of genius, but as a mind set that evaluates the processes through which knowledge and inspiration lead to shared innovation. Also, the conditions that make innovation possible are examined through the modern reality of daily experience. We innovate all of the time on a personal level. In this session, we will look at some ways our daily habits transform into innovative potential.
