This first Leadership Workshop for Fall 2022 will introduce students to themselves as learners. Instead of looking at learning as a “passive” activity, we will be investigating and testing active and engaged learning processes such as “scaffolded learning,” the “Socratic method” and “cognitive development.” Drawing from modern psychological learning theories such as constructivism, humanism and others, as well as some ancient approaches that deserve revisiting, we will explore what it means to “learn” as opposed to just “remembering.”
The virtual workshop is at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12. Please click here to register.
Once you register, you will be sent the information to join the workshop.
Students will take away new techniques to use in the classroom and their daily lives. They should come prepared to participate and ask questions. Student engagement is essential in the efficacy of this session.
Students who register and attend this leadership workshop will get a $10 e-gift card.
