The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) will be the topic of discussion at the weekly leadership skills development and critical issues forum from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, March 14 in room 150 of the Siek Campus Center.
VAWA is a federal regulation that requires colleges and universities to comply with certain campus safety and security regulations as a condition of its participation in Title IV. VAWA requires that higher education institutions compile statistics for incidents of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
Representatives from the Center for Academic Engagement, the Health Office, Public Safety Office, and campus’ judicial committee will co-facilitate the workshop.
The workshop is sponsored by LEAD@HVCC, a weekly leadership skills development program established by the Student Activities Office.
The campus community is invited. For more information, call 629-7348.
