Learn About Geothermal Heating and Cooling

“The Energy Under Our Feet,” a presentation about geothermal heating and cooling will take place at TEC-SMART in Malta on Thursday, April 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. This event is co-sponsored by Hudson Valley and the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) in celebration of Earth Week.

Geothermal is a source of clean renewable energy from underground. Discussion will focus on the benefits of a geothermal system, how it works, the various kinds of installation, how geothermal is different from conventional heating and cooling systems, who can install it and how much the system saves in energy usage and carbon emissions.

Jack DiEnna, director of the Geothermal National & International Initiative (GOE-NII) will lead the discussion and demonstrate the operation of a geothermal system.
