The Liberal Arts Department would like to welcome Brenda Hardy, Jackie Kulls and Tara Maroney Pickett to the advisement team. The department is thrilled to have such highly qualified and advising career dedicated individuals to work with our students.
Brenda Hardy has an M.S. in Counseling Psychology, C.A.S. in School Counseling and a B.A. in Anthropology, all from the University at Albany. She has been an academic advisor for more than 20 years and has experience leading academic advising teams, including acting as the Program Coordinator for the School of Liberal Arts at Excelsior College. She is a seasoned instructor for courses in Psychology and Sociology, and is skilled at developing online coursework in Blackboard.
Jackie Kulls holds a M.Ed. in Higher Education Leadership from Florida Atlantic University and a B.A. in Anthropology from SUNY Oswego. She joins the department with more than 15 years experience in academic advising, supporting traditional and non-traditional students at both two- and four-year institutions. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and the International Student Affairs Honors Society.
Tara Maroney Pickett has a M.S. in Public Relations, received with distinction and a B.S. in Business Administration, a B.A. in Journalism, and a B.A. in Sociology. Tara has experience as a graduate admissions counselor and has been the Assistant Director for Advising and Associate Director for Online Student Advising at the University of Bridgeport over the past several years. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and currently holds the position of conference program co-chair. She is also a member of the NACADA Emerging Leaders Program and NACADA Chair for Distance Advising and Online Education.
