Library implements new system for its operations

On June 19, the Dwight Marvin Library unveiled its new library service platform system for its operations. Circulation, cataloging, electronic resource management, and other library business will be completed in the new environment. Hudson Valley Community College joins all SUNY libraries in implementing the new system.

The new system includes automatic email communications confirming loans, due dates, overdue items, and related business. Questions about new messages from the library system can be emailed to library@hvcc.edu.

The public interface, OneSearch, will be released to the campus within the next few days. Stay tuned! More details related to the public side of the system will be posted in the coming weeks.

Special thanks to the library implementation team members, who have collectively spent hundreds of hours preparing for the new system:

  • Assistant Professor Katie Jezik, chair and institutional project lead
  • Donna Craver, data analysis coordinator
  • Professor Sue Grayson
  • Polly Karis, senior clerk
  • Assistant Professor Cindy Koman
  • Instructor Brenden McCarthy
  • Sarah Romeo and Stephanie Clowe Ross, current and former online media specialists
