Jennifer Acker, senior clerk in Dwight Marvin Library, was recognized by the Albany County Visitors Bureau (ACCVB) for her work on the local arrangements committee for the 2016 IDS Project library resource sharing conference.
The award recognizes “dedicated volunteers [who] have provided the Capital Region’s economy with a tremendous impact.” The IDS Project conference resulted in more than 325 booked room nights at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. Jen arranged for ACCVB to have a table at the registration desk to provide information for the hundreds of librarians and library support staff (and their families), who attended to take advantage of attractions and businesses in the Desmond Hotel / Wolf Road area.
Jen was unable to attend the awards ceremony last month because she was attending a resource sharing conference to continue to develop her knowledge and skills in the practice of interlibrary loan. Jen was the recipient of the 2016 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Services.
