Hudson Valley Community College is offering a 2-day professional development workshop on the Fundamentals of Project Management. Please note that this is a two-day workshop. Please only register if you can attend both days.

There is no cost for college employees to attend the workshop, but enrollment is limited to 25 participants. Additional sessions may be scheduled if there is high demand. If you would like to attend but cannot make it on these dates, please reach out to Kimberly Student in ITS at (518) 629-7254 so we can track interest in additional sessions.

Fundamentals of Project Management
Thursday, July 25 and Friday, July 26

Course Description
The course is designed to teach the fundamentals of project management to New York State and SUNY employees. The course uses the NYS Project Management Guidebook as a foundation and will take learners through the project management life cycle. This workshop seeks to provide a common framework for projects and common language for people to use when working on project teams.

This workshop is designed for people new to project management with little or no formal training. The focus of the workshop is to help employees understand the concepts and improve their project management skills. This course counts as 13 learning credits for individuals pursuing a project management certificate from the Project Management Institute such as the CAPM or PMP.

Who should attend?
People who are new to project management. The course is a fundamentals course and does not deep-dive into technical topics. This course is mostly group-activity based, and lessons build progressively from one to another. For the learning continuity of all participants, please only attend if you can attend both days.
