Looking for a job while you are in school?
Did you know that people change their careers 5-7 times throughout the course of their working lives? Students often must work while they are in school and those positions can lead one to a path that wasn’t explored before. And for some it is a temporary stopover on the way to their chosen field.
Right now there are some in-demand jobs that take just a short amount of training that can keep you afloat while going to school.
Each month we will highlight in-demand opportunities on the Career Launchpad website. But you don’t have to wait for the article – the Launchpad itself is designed to offer students the opportunity to explore different programs that take 6 months or less to complete.
This month take a look at the article on Pharmacy Technicians. There are over 100 job opening locally and more on the way. A short one-semester course can get you to certification and higher starting salary.
Be sure to take a look at the rest of the site as you consider what work you will do while you are in school.
And the best thing – many of these trainings are eligible for funding if you are income qualified. Even if you are living at home with your parents.
At Hudson Valley Community College we all appreciate our students have a lot on their plate as they attend school. Our goal is to be as supportive as possible.
If you have questions about the different opportunities – fill out the form on the Career Launchpad website and Career Services will contact you.
