It is with great sadness that I inform the college community that EOC retiree, Joyce Harley, passed away on Aug. 17.
Joyce was employed as a keyboard specialist in the EOC’s records/EMS office from January 1998 until her retirement in May of 2011. Joyce will always be remembered for her spirit, commitment to the EOC and its students, and her love of all things Irish. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Calling hours will be on Friday, Aug. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Ave., (between 124th and 125 streets), Troy. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 9 a.m. from St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh.
In lieu of flowers, Joyce wanted to give back to Hudson Valley Community College in recognition of the support provided to her late son Patrick Dewane when he was enrolled at the college. Contributions may be made to the college Foundation’s Second Chance Scholarship fund in memory of Joyce Harley and Patrick Dewane .
