The Joseph L. Bruno Stadium will be the site of the MAAC Baseball Championships, hosted by Siena College, from May 23-26. This is the first time in 14 years that the tournament has been held in the Capital Region.
Director of Athletics Kristan Pelletier assisted Siena college athletics staff in putting together the bid for the tournament and in securing use of the stadium. She is currently lining up members of Hudson Valley’s baseball team to work at the event.
The last time that Siena hosted the MAAC Baseball Championships was 1998 when the college won its third of four consecutive league titles. That tournament was held in what was then Heritage Park in Colonie.
Colleges in the MAAC baseball league include Canisius, Iona, Fairfield, Niagara, Manhattan, Marist, Saint Peter’s and Siena.
