March for Science organizers recognize professor

Organizers of the Albany March for Science recognized Dr. Donna Barron, an assistant professor in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics Department, for her assistance with the April 22 event at the Capitol.

A member of the Albany March Committee, Barron participated in the “meet the scientist” event and felt the science activity tables at the march strengthened a connection between the local scientific community and all community members.

Donna teaches general, analytical, and biological chemistry at Hudson Valley Community College. Prior to joining the faculty more than 10 years ago, she worked in the local biotechnology industry. She uses her experiences in industry to prepare her students for the world they will encounter after college. Her research interests include the development of educational laboratory exercises using new and novel instrumentation.

Barron was one of seven members of the Albany March Committee to be profiled on the organization’s Facebook page.
